At Changing Tides Fitness & Nutrition, we believe fitness and wellness should be accessible, welcoming, and inclusive to everyone—both in our physical training studio and across our digital experiences. We are dedicated to ensuring our website meets or exceeds WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards.

Key Accessibility Features

• Keyboard Navigation: All navigation links, buttons, and form controls are operable via keyboard alone with visible high-contrast focus rings.
• Skip-to-Content: A dedicated skip navigation link allows keyboard and screen reader users to bypass header menus directly to primary page content.
• Semantic Landmarks: Proper HTML5 semantic elements (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <section>, <footer>) and hierarchical heading structures (H1 through H4) ensure screen reader compatibility.
• Touch Target Sizing: All interactive buttons and mobile links maintain a minimum 44px by 44px tap target area to support users with motor impairments.
• Contrast Compliance: Text colors (Deep Tide #123B4A, Charcoal #172125) on light backgrounds meet or exceed the 4.5:1 WCAG contrast ratio for normal text.
• Descriptive Imagery: All meaningful images feature descriptive alt text, while purely decorative accents use aria-hidden="true".
• Reduced Motion: We respect operating system preferences for reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion), disabling non-essential transitions.

Physical Studio Accessibility

Our Homer studio at 601 E Pioneer Avenue Suite 214 features building elevator access and designated accessible parking. If you have specific physical mobility accommodations or questions prior to your first appointment, please let Heidi know in advance so we can prepare the studio accordingly.
